Dear Clients,

I want to begin by, thank you for trusting me with your stories and the brave work of showing up for yourselves and your families. It is a privilege I hold with great care.

I’m writing to share an important update. I’m now the co-owner of Connected Family Counselling, alongside a small, collaborative team of clinicians. This step reflects a shared belief that therapy is about strengthening connection—not fixing what’s broken—and creating spaces where children, teens, adults and families feel seen, supported, and cared for. At Connected Family Counselling, we’re committed to leading with curiosity, honouring lived experience, and trusting the power of safe, connected relationships.

What this means for you:

  • More bookable hours and increased flexibility
  • Same location, new office

  • An updated session fee of $235 per 50-minute session, aligned with the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta’s recommended fee standards (affective February 1, 2025)

  • New booking link — now open for February 1 appointments (https://connectedfamilycounselling.janeapp.com/#/team)

I know that even positive change can bring mixed feelings. My intention remains the same: to offer thoughtful, grounded care that meets you where you are and if you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you for being part of this journey. If you’re curious to learn more about what we’re building, you’re always welcome to connect with us on Instagram at @connectedfamilycounselling. I’m grateful to continue this work alongside you.

Warmly,

Abby Heck, MSW RCSW (she, her) Co-Owner & Therapist Connected Family Counselling

Hello there. I commend you on taking this first hard step for yourself or your child. I’m Abrielle (Abby) Heck and I get how scary this can all be. Over the last 16 years I’ve had the honour of supporting & collaborating with children, adolescents, young adults and caregivers. I have a passion in demystifying mental health, and helping families struggling with emotional regulation, anxiety, tough life events & transitions and thriving with neurodiversity such as ADHD. I love to get creative and use art, toys and play to meet kids and adolescents where they’re at. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers with my Masters of Clinical Social Work, specializing in infant, early childhood, school-aged and adolescent mental health. I utilize an Attachment Theory lens to walk alongside families in acknowledging their past and instilling hope for the future. I have training and experience in Parent-Child Attachment Relationships, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Play and Art interventions and I am a Certified Circle of Security Facilitator.
